RB Salzburg star hints at Premier League ambitions amid Man United links

RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka has broken his silence on his recent transfer links to Liverpool and Manchester United, hinting that he may welcome a move to England’s top-flight.

Daka, 22, joined RB Salzburg in 2017 and after watching star-man Erling Haaland depart 12-months ago, has been forced to step-up and fill some pretty big boots.

The exciting striker has not disappointed as he continues to enjoy a superb breakthrough.

Daka has featured in 17 matches so far this season and has already been directly involved in a whopping 20 goals, in all competitions.

In light of the Zambian forward’s impressive form, there have been reports that the 22-year-old could be set for a big move to the Premier League with the likes of Liverpool and United seemingly among the most interested, as per Daily Mail.

RB Salzburg’s main marksman has recently broken his silence on the stunning transfer links as he hints he would love to follow in the footsteps of some of the Premier League’s biggest names.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Daka said:  “To see our big brothers like (Pierre-Emerick) Aubameyang, (Mohamed) Salah, (Sadio) Mane, it’s something that gives me the dream that I can also make it.

“I can be like them. They are my inspiration, knowing that they also come from Africa.

“I think when people are making those kind of comparisons, it’s great, looking at the status of Sadio Mane, the kind of football he plays and the kind of person that he is.”

However, despite Daka’s big dreams, the young striker is determined to keep his feet on the ground.

“The most vital thing that I’ve noticed is that the club don’t focus much about receiving big money for players,” he said. “They’re more concerned about the development of the player.

“You know what is going on. You’re not just left in the shadows, where you don’t know anything that’s happening.

“I’m doing a lot of things right. I have to stay focused and, at the same time, I have to be careful and not go look at the media speculation because a lot is expected for me.”
