Amad Diallo snapped on plane heading to complete Man United transfer

We have lift off!

Manchester United’s new wonderkid Amad Diallo is on his way to complete his long-awaited transfer from Atalanta.

Diallo, 18, agreed to become a United player on deadline day during last year’s summer transfer window, the agreement was announced on the club’s official website.

However, despite both Atalanta and United reaching an agreement, work permit and passport issues meant the youngster’s move was delayed until the January transfer window.

There were recent suggestions that Atalanta may be hoping to retain Diallo at the last minute on a short-term loan, however, as we reported on Saturday, the Red Devils have no intention of negotiating a loan-back deal.

The latest in the ongoing situation comes directly from the player’s official social media.

Taking to his Instagram, Diallo has excited fans by posting an image of him onboard a plane.

Leading journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the news by tweeting: Amad Diallo is now flying to Rome. He’ll complete paperworks and documents to join #mufc, then when everything will be completed [in the next few days] he’ll fly to Manchester #ManUtd @Amaddiallo79″

Stretty News can confirm that the reason for Diallo travelling to Rome prior to Manchester is because Rome is where the Ivory Coast embassy is located and that is where his paperwork will need to be signed.
