COVID-19: Greater Manchester moved to Tier 4

The UK Government has decided to move the Greater Manchester region into Tier 4.

Since fans are only allowed to attend matches at stadiums within Tier 1 and Tier 2 areas, this doesn’t change a lot for Manchester United but it’s still unwanted news for the club and everybody involved.

The club urges all fans to follow government guidance and they will continue to stand ready for their return in 2021 once safe to do so, as per ManUtd.com.

These restrictions are in effect from 00:01 GMT on 31 December.

Coronavirus infection rates are increasing across all regions and a lot of areas have moved up a tier, like Greater Manchester.

Away from football, this is something we all need to be cautious about on New Years Eve.

The global pandemic has taken many twists and turns since it changed our lives, and with development of a vaccine that is being rolled out we can hope that 2021 will be a better year.

We all miss the friends we attend games with and cheering on the team, but we just got to keep looking forward to returning no matter how long it takes.

If the lads keep playing the way they are and winning football matches, who knows, we might have something to cheer about!
