Manchester United duo make PL Team of the Week after draw at Leicester City

Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw at the King Power Stadium, and just two players made the cut for Garth Crooks’ Premier League Team of the Week.

First up is Bruno Fernandes for his performance against Leicester City.

The Portuguese superstar is United’s most influential player by some distance and he was important again on Boxing Day. A beautifully floated cross for Marcus Rashford in the opening minutes was headed over, however, he exquisitely flicked the ball between James Justin and Wesley Fofana and this time the England striker didn’t miss.

Fernandes has an incredible ability to make goals for his team-mates, and he seems to be successful in doing so every week.

As for Rashford, he missed his first chance on goal but he still went on to celebrate his 50th goal in the Premier League which is a marvellous achievement for a 23-year-old.

Crooks writes, as per BBC: “Rashford has Robin van Persie’s skill but lacks Ruud van Nistelrooy’s finishing. Combine the two and Rashford is not just competing for Ballon d’Or — he’s winning it.”

No Leicester players made the cut this week.

United are back in action tomorrow against Wolves, who drew with Tottenham Hotspur last night.
