Manchester United new signing compared to a young Lionel Messi

The January transfer window will be open soon and Manchester United fans will be wanting to see a deal or two that will strengthen the squad and help us finishing the current campaign strongly.

There are a number of areas in the team United could improve. From defending to finishing, a right winger and defensive midfielder.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already excited about one arrival.

Amad Diallo is expected to join United in January — work permit pending — after signing for the club on deadline day, in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United’s official website stated in October that the player would join ‘at a later date,’ and Atalanta’s Papa Gomez, who has seen the rise of the youngster in Italy, rates him very highly.

“He’s a future star, trust me,” Gomez told talkSPORT. “During our training he seems like [Lionel] Messi! You can’t stop him.”

Yet Diallo has only appeared five times for Atalanta’s first team? Why hasn’t he played more if he’s unstoppable or anywhere near as good as a young  Messi?

I’m sure the kid has tons of potential, but it seems a bit dramatic making Messi comparisons so early on.

Let’s give the kid a chance at United; he’s coming from a different league and, on top of the Messi comparisons, that’s not easy.

  1. I’ve lost count of all these youngsters we buy from overseas who are going to be the next big thing! How many actually ever play for the first team? Ronaldo is the exception – obviously!

    1. Graham… Rafael, Nani, Anderson, de Gea, Januzaj Pogba and Martial all signed for United as teenagers.

  2. The problem is comparing these young lad to that ofMessi and Ronald, and also the expectation of we the the fans. You can not expect these child to play like them.

  3. Maybe you guys should calm your tits down with these stupid comparisons that you help amplify. Let the young man enjoy his football and stop putting unnecessary pressure on him already these silly articles.
