Manchester United asked former player for lowdown on Moises Caicedo

Manchester United have contacted Antonio Valencia for his opinion of transfer target Moises Caicedo.

The 19-year-old has been capped as an Ecuador international already and has attracted interest from Manchester United.

According to information obtained by Stretty News, United have scouted Caicedo but the ‘transfer imminent’ hype has got far ahead of the reality of the situation.

However, The Athletic claim Antonio Valencia has informed United that Caceido ‘had real potential’ after impressive displays for his country.

The former United captain made nearly 250 appearances for the club and he was asked about his own assessment of Caceido. There are key ingredients a player needs to succeed at a club like United, so we’re under no doubt that Valencia knows what to look out for.

Solskjaer has put great emphasis on snapping up the brightest talent from around the globe in recent windows, with Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo signing for the club on deadline day in the summer.

Diallo is still at Atalanta but is expected to join his new team-mates at Old Trafford in January.
