Former Manchester United ace has one concern over Christian Eriksen rumours

Former Manchester United midfielder Luke Chadwick doesn’t think his old club need to be chasing Inter Milan misfit Christian Eriksen.

The Denmark International was a star in the Premier League during his time at Tottenham Hotspur, and he could see England as the perfect escape route after struggling in Italy.

Reports suggest Eriksen will be available in January and this has led to talk of interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, according to Italian publications such as Calciomercato and Corriere hello Sport, as rounded up and translated via Football Italia.

I can see why Arsenal would be interested, but United? The Gunners still have Mesut Ozil on their wage books.

Eriksen, 28, is an amazing technical player and at his best he’d improve most sides in the Premier League. He can play in a number of roles but we’ve already got players like that in the squad.

Is Eriksen better than Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek? Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also has Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard to select from in his squad.

Chadwick admits he’s unsure Eriksen would get into the team at the moment.

The reports haven’t hit the gossip columns in the UK just yet but the former United midfielder has had his say on the matter.

“He’s certainly a fantastic player and has been a huge success in the Premier League before,” Chadwick told CaughtOffside.

“A big concern if United sign him is where does he fit? Van de Beek’s only just getting into the team. Bruno Fernandes is another similar player, but he’s going to start every game when he’s fit because of what he’s done.

“I think there are other positions that need strengthening a bit more than that creative midfield player that Eriksen is.”

It’s a non-runner for us.
