Photo: Daniel James celebrates first goal in Champions League

Daniel James was a goalscoring substitute tonight against Istanbul Basaksehir.

The Welsh winger takes a lot of criticism but he took his goal very well on the night.

It started with some fantastic build-up play between Edinson Cavani, Donny van de Beek and Mason Greenwood, with glorious one-touch football on display.

United never really got going in the second half but they managed three goals before the break thanks to Bruno Fernandes (x2) and Marcus Rashford.

It puts United in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League, with 9 points from four games. They’re on top of their group with Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig on 6 points each with two games to play.

On top of that, James scored his first goal in the Champions League. The winning goal against Istanbul Basaksehir.

He took to Instagram after the match with a picture of him celebrating the goal captioned: “What a feeling to score my first @championsleague goal! Great performance by the boys tonight😁🙌🏼”
