Edinson Cavani hints at where he could play after Man United

Manchester United’s new number seven has hinted that he could join Argentinian side Boca Juniors after he leaves the Reds.

Cavani, 33, joined Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Reds during the summer transfer window’s deadline day and was officially announced as United’s new number-seven on the club’s official website ManUtd.com.

The elite striker’s move to United is the latest in a long-line of top European club sides after enjoying successful spells at Palmero, Napoli and Paris-Saint Germain.

The Uruguayan has featured in a total of 556 senior competitive matches throughout his career and has been directly involved in a hugely impressive 406 goals.

Arguably Cavani’s most impressive spell was his seven years at Ligue giants Paris-Saint Germain where he won 22 trophies including six Ligue 1 titles.

After his deadline switch to Old Trafford earlier this week it hasn’t taken the South American long to address speculation over who his next club after United could be.

Speaking to ESPN the experienced forward: “Boca is a giant of the world, any footballer would like to play there. There have been several Uruguayans that have played there. Following the history of our football arouses curiosity a bit.

“There are some secrets from the conversation with Roman, you have to ask him if he wants to tell them. We will see what happens in the future. It would be very nice to be able to play at Boca one day.”

Cavani was set to make his United debut later this month when the Reds take-on Newcastle United in the Premier League, however, according to The Times United’s new number-seven’s debut may be delayed until after the Newcastle game due to COVID-19 quarantine rules.
