Manchester United and FC Porto reach agreement for Alex Telles

Manchester United and FC Porto have reached an agreement for Alex Telles.

According to reputable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the final details will be sorted in the next few hours so it’s set to be a busy deadline day for the club after leaving it very late to add to the arrival of midfielder Donny van de Beek.

Once the last details are sorted, then medicals and hopefully an official announcement will follow.

Romano only ever tweets “here we go” when he is certain that a deal is on the verge of happening, like he’s done here re: Telles to United.

The Porto full-back likes to get forward and if United can complete the signing of Edinson Cavani (via L’Equipe), the Uruguayan can expect plenty of crosses from the left flank. That might make up for the lack of goals we score from Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s deliveries.

Moreover, Portuguese newspaper Record claim the deal will be closed today.

It’s always exciting when a new signing is about to be announce but it comes after a summer of sheer frustration. United have left it late again.

More updates when we have them!
