Man United close to landing talented young French centre-back

Manchester United are reportedly getting closer to signing highly-rated centre-back Willy Kambwala from Ligue 1 side Sochaux as talks between the two clubs continue to positively progress.

Kambwala, 16, is highly-rated within European football with the six foot three inch tall commanding centre-back expected to develop into one of the sport’s leading defenders.

The talented centre-back has already captained his national side’s under-17s team and could be set to become the United youth academy’s latest summer signing.

United have already taken huge strides in adding European quality to their youth ranks this summer after snapping up a host of a top-tier young talent.

The Reds’ illustrious academy have already secured the services of  the likes of Charlie McNeill from rivals Man City, Alejandro Garnacho from Atletico Madrid, Isak Hansen-Aaroen from Tromso, Alvaro Fernandez from Real Madrid and Marc Jurado from Barcelona (as per TransferMarkt).

The latest addition to join the United youth set-up is hotly tipped to be Sochaux’s Kambwala who is expected to continue his already impressive development under the guidance of United’s youth coaching staff.

A recent report from leading journalist Laurie Whitwell of the The Athletic suggests the Reds are progressing well in their efforts to lure Sochaux’s highly-rated teenager to Old Trafford.
