Manchester United are looking to quickly get their season on track after losing their opening Premier League match against Crystal Palace.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are on the road this weekend with an early Saturday kick-off at the Amex Stadium. Brighton haven’t had a bad start to the season and will be looking to cause an upset after watching United’s shocking display against the Eagles.
United weren’t much better beating Luton Town 3-0 midweek in the Carabao Cup but at least the players got more minutes under their belt.
Dean Henderson started in goal against the Hatters and kept a clean sheet in his debut for Manchester United’s senior team. It’s too early for calls to see him replace David de Gea as first choice, so I’m expecting to see the Spaniard between the posts this weekend.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka got some minutes during the week and should be getting the nod ahead of Timothy Fosu-Mensah, while Luke Shaw operates on the opposite flank. At centre-back, where United should strengthen in the transfer window, Eric Bailly needs to be the one partnering Harry Maguire.
I think Donny van de Beek will eased in over the coming weeks and he played very well on Tuesday night, but my midfield trio consists of Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.
Mason Greenwood should start ahead of Daniel James, and hopefully we’ll see Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial back to their best.
Manchester United predicted XI: De Gea, AWB, Bailly, Maguire, Shaw; Matic, Pogba, Fernandes; Greenwood, Rashford, Martial.
