Man United could pull plug on Jadon Sancho deal and turn to alternative list

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to turn to their list of alternatives as they consider pulling the plug on negotiations with Borussia Dortmund for number-one target Jadon Sancho if the German side do not budge on their huge £108m transfer fee demands.

Sancho, 20, enjoyed one of European football’s most impressive campaigns last time out after being directly involved in 40 goals from just 44 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund.

The talented Englishman’s impressive form has been the main reason Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has highlighted him as his number-one summer transfer target, however, talks to land the highly-rated attacker have been slow and so far have failed to materialise.

Despite the lengthy process, United fans were offered a boost yesterday after Sky Sports reported that the Reds have struck a break-through in their pursuit for Sancho after finalising personal terms and agency fees with a formal bid to Dortmund being the final hurdle.

However, the latest report in the ongoing saga also comes from Sky Sports News’ Transfer Show as reporters Tom White and Jaydee Dyer discuss the possibility of United pulling the plug on their pursuit of Sancho and instead turning their attentions to a list of alternatives.

United have been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman in recent weeks and despite his Champions League winning goal efforts, United aren’t expected to seriously pursue the Frenchman whilst Dortmund’s Sancho remains a possibility.

With just three weeks left in this summer’s window to go the Reds now face a race against time to land Sancho as the general feeling among fans is that it’s ‘now or never’.
