Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has suggested now is the wrong time to judge Ed Woodward after a frustrating start to Manchester United’s summer transfer window.
United look no closer to signing any senior players, despite the flurry of activity of rival clubs and the clear need to bolster Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
The club’s interest in bringing Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford this summer is an open secret, but it’s looking increasingly likely that the Borussia Dortmund forward won’t be going anywhere.
According to the Mirror, United could put the Sancho deal on hold with Dortmund not willing to compromise on their £108m asking price for the England international.
The apparent reluctance to spend significant money while rival teams such as Chelsea and Manchester City are strengthening significantly is igniting fury within the United fanbase.
And the blame is being attached to vice-executive chairman Ed Woodward and the Glazers whose hesitancy in investing in the squad and completing transfers could immediately put Solskjaer on the back foot next season.
Solhekol’s suggestion that Woodward’s business should be just at the end of the window does not sit well with United supporters on social media, who are growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of first-team arrivals.

Mate its driving me insane!! And the fact we are told, we can take advantage of the market and we can sign anyone. Seriously worried for the club! I swear they enjoy pissing off the fan base

No we can’t wait until the end of the window. Because it could be too late what if we don’t sign anyone? Or bring in awful players. We are gonna he fighting for 4th place again at this rate and probably not even get it.

#WoodwardOut I hate this excuse there’s a long time till the window closes. NO, we need signings to come in before pre season training which is in 9 days and not 1 player. Always slow at United because of ED WOODWARD

We are not acting as a big club should be, we should of at least signed two players by now and Ed with a small club mind set trying Save as much money as possible. Without having a
concept of time.— andrew aubrey (@andyred_devil82) August 24, 2020
We’ve had enough awful windows under judge and Woodward to criticise how awful they have been in recruiting the players that we want/need.
It’s about time he went back to banking…— Grimberley Mctimberley (@poEt_GrIm) August 25, 2020
I tell you what when Ed gives us something to judge him on, other than the square root of eff all, and maybe we will indulge that request. Until he delivers *anything* then he is going to be judged in the harshest of terms, especially while all of our rivals have strengthened.
