Video: Sky Sports reporter’s Ed Woodward claim receives huge backlash from Man Utd fans

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has suggested now is the wrong time to judge Ed Woodward after a frustrating start to Manchester United’s summer transfer window.

United look no closer to signing any senior players, despite the flurry of activity of rival clubs and the clear need to bolster Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

The club’s interest in bringing Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford this summer is an open secret, but it’s looking increasingly likely that the Borussia Dortmund forward won’t be going anywhere.

According to the Mirror, United could put the Sancho deal on hold with Dortmund not willing to compromise on their £108m asking price for the England international.

The apparent reluctance to spend significant money while rival teams such as Chelsea and Manchester City are strengthening significantly is igniting fury within the United fanbase.

And the blame is being attached to vice-executive chairman Ed Woodward and the Glazers whose hesitancy in investing in the squad and completing transfers could immediately put Solskjaer on the back foot next season.

Solhekol’s suggestion that Woodward’s business should be just at the end of the window does not sit well with United supporters on social media, who are growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of first-team arrivals.
