Manchester United duo named in Ryan Giggs’ Wales squad for Nations League matches

Ryan Giggs’ Wales squad for the upcoming Nations League matches against Finland and Bulgaria includes two Manchester United players.

Daniel James and Dylan Levitt have both been named in the 26-man squad that also features a new face in Liverpool right-back Neco Williams.

James endured a tough end to his first season at United but remains a key part of Giggs’ plans and has the chance to rekindle some form on the international stage ahead of the new domestic season.

Levitt meanwhile, has yet to make a senior Wales appearance but may be given some minutes with Giggs looking to plan ahead for next summer’s delayed European Championships.

The 19-year-old made a solitary appearance for United in the 19/20 season, impressing in the 2-1 defeat to Astana in a dead-rubber Europa League fixture in November.

Manchester Evening News report that Levitt is one of a number of young United players set for loan moves in the coming weeks.

The midfielder will need regular game-time at club level if he is to break into the Wales first-team.

Giggs’ Wales squad also features promising Shalke winger Rabbi Matondo, who has previously been linked with United as a possible alternative to Jadon Sancho.

Wales face Finland away on September 3 and host Bulgaria at the Cardiff City Stadium just three days later.
