Man Utd to learn schedule as Premier League fixture release date confirmed

Manchester United are set to learn their Premier League schedule with the fixtures to be released at 09:00 BST on Thursday.

The new league season is already on the horizon and will begin on September 12 and finish on 23 May 2021.

The impact of the coronavirus pandemic means the new campaign is over a month shorter than usual, so games will come thick and fast for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Reds.

But fortunately for United and rivals Manchester City, they will be granted an extended summer break after taking part in European competition.

United were defeated by Sevilla in the Europa League final on Sunday, under a month before the start of the league season.

And according to ESPN, Solskjaer’s men will be given a 30-day break between their final game of last season and the new campaign.

Therefore, United are unlikely to play on the first weekend of the season under the agreement Premier League clubs made ahead of the restart after lockdown.
