Man United discuss loan move for Jadon Sancho alternative at Barcelona

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele is on Manchester United’s radar as an alternative option to Jadon Sancho, according to ESPN.

Manchester United have yet to make an official approach for Dembele, but it seems matters are getting complicated with Borussia Dortmund over a potential transfer involving Sancho. The report suggests they will continue working on a deal to sign the former Man City youngster.

BVB’s sporting director Michael Zorc was yesterday quoted by the Manchester Evening News as saying the England international would be staying put this summer. Then some of their star players including Mats Hummels and Axel Witsel played on the idea over the past 24 hours.

Rather interestingly, Sancho has said nothing in the public sphere.

Dembele, formerly of BVB, has struggled for much of his time at Barcelona and might be interested by a switch to Old Trafford.

However, ESPN claim informal discussions over an initial season-long loan with an obligation to buy were discussed but no official approach has been made yet.

The report adds that Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman and Juventus star Douglas Costa are on United’s radar as well as Dembele.
