There is a sense of inevitability around Mason Greenwood when he bares down on goal.
Few Manchester United supporters had a doubt that their teenage superstar would miss when played in by Marcus Rashford’s clever headed pass on the stroke of half-time against FC Copenhagen.
Greenwood latched onto the ball brilliantly before striking a right-footed effort onto the bottom corner to give goalkeeper Karl-Johan Johnsson no chance.
It was United’s first real moment of quality and would have been the perfect way to end a lacklustre half.
But, unfortunately, replays showed that Greenwood was offside and the decision was eventually overturned.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must elicit a reaction from his players in the second-half after a flat start to their Europa League quarter-final in Cologne.
