It’s been a pretty poor 20+ minutes in Manchester United’s Europa League quarter-final tie against FC Copenhagen.
It scoreline remains 0-0 and it could be a lot worse but United really haven’t got going in the game.
There’s a lack of intensity and we’re not getting the ball to Bruno Fernandes to get people further forward.
I understand it’s early days in the game, however, we’ve been seconds away from a disaster or two in defence thus far from Fred sloppily losing possession in his own half to Eric Bailly almost putting the ball on a plate for one of FC Copenhagen’s forwards with a scruffy attempt to pass the ball inside his own box.
If you want a moment or two to reflect on from the opening 20 or so minutes of the game, forget the referee’s bizarre U-turn on a United penalty (it wasn’t a penalty), and look no further that this short cameo of Paul Pogba and Fred’s long range passing.
Pogba does this most weeks but it’s nice to see Fred get in on the act. Footage courtesy of BT Sport 1:
United haven’t really looked like scoring which makes for an underwhelming start to the game.
Hopefully they give us something to shout about before half-time.
