Dortmund CEO, previously called out for lying, dismisses any contact with United over Jadon Sancho

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has strongly denied reports Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Jadon Sancho this summer.

Although all of the biggest media outlets have given their version of events, Watzke wants us to believe there’s absolutely nothing in it.

No smoke without fire, eh?

Watzke dispelled claims that there have been talks over Sancho’s future held between Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund.

“So far, there has been no contact between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United in terms of Sancho,” he told Süddeutsche Zeitung.

“Also not indirectly or through alleged intermediaries.”

Watzke sounded confident of keeping their star player, adding: “I assume that Jadon will go to the training camp on Monday and play with us for the coming season.”

I did a bit of digging and found a brilliant tweet from Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from October 3, 2019. The Gabon international, who played for Dortmund between 2013 and 2018 and was the Bundesliga top scorer in 2016-17, said: “Better for you I never talk about why I really left Dortmund Mr Watzke you such a clown 🤡 I remember that time you said we never gonna sell Ousmane then you saw more than 100M you were the first to take that money 🤣🤣🤙🏽 don’t talk about money please!!! Leave me alone pls 🙏🏼”

I’m not sure I’ll be believing anything that comes out of Watzke’s mouth. He’s trying to get as much out of United he can.
