Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, a report claims.
According to Calciomercato, Manchester United are keen on the idea of signing Milenkovic this summer, who is valued at €35m in the same article.
Knowing United have been linked with Milenkovic previously, when José Mourinho was in charge, it doesn’t surprise me to see these reports reappear because the Reds should be in the market for a centre-back.
I’m not saying the report is accurate, but since they’ve watched at him in the past I’m sure they have data on the 22-year-old defender in a filing compartment at Ed Woodward’s desk. And it just might be somewhat promising.
It could also be a matter of CM making use of the transfer market opening to get more clicks. Time will tell but they add that Napoli and AC Milan are also interested in the former Partizan Belgrade star.
Napoli’s interest is least surprising with the prospect of Kalidou Koulibaly moving on this summer. Another defender United should be considering right now.
While Harry Maguire is our captain and big centre-back signing from just last year, his form was growing concern after the restart and he must improve next season. There were games in which he was outperformed by Victor Lindelof, the defender we’re supposedly looking to replace…
United need a top centre-back.
