The Premier League campaign is finally over and pundits have been naming their team of the season.

Unsurprisingly, Liverpool players dominate most positions after Jurgen Klopp’s side ended the club’s 30-year wait for a league title.

But ex-Liverpool player Stan Collymore made room for one Manchester United player in his team that included five Liverpool stars.

Bruno Fernandes is selected alongside Kevin De Bruyne and Jordan Henderson in the Mirror columnist’s midfield.

The impact Fernandes has had on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has been quite incredible given the fact he only arrived at the end of January.

The Portuguese playmaker scored eight goals and assisted seven times in the league and was totemic in United’s 14-game unbeaten run which resulted in an improbable third place finish.

Granted, Fernandes tired in the final few games and his performances suffered, but he still provided in the big moment by nonchalantly scoring the penalty that secured the lead against Leicester on the final day showdown.

We feel his place in a Premier League team of the season is warranted simply based on the transformational impact he has had on Solskjaer’s side.
