Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has not be a stranger to injury bad luck, having suffered a horrific leg break in 2015, the English defender finally appeared to have put his bad luck behind him. Sadly though, he has been forced off tonight against Southampton after rolling his ankle.

The 25 year old English defender has been arguably one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s best players this evening.

However, just after the 70th minute, Shaw found himself in familiar territory deep into The Saint’s box when a bad turn of events saw the left-back roll onto his own ankle.

Despite the defender going off the pitch and coming back on in an attempt to see out the match, Shaw was unable to continue and subsequently was forced off in place of Brandon Williams.

Solskjaer and the United medical team will be hoping the ankle injury isn’t too serious and won’t force Shaw to miss the remainder of the season.

With the games continuing to come thick and fast United will need as many of their first team fit and ready to go should they continue in their fight for top-four as well as two cup competitions.
