Report: Manchester United closely tracking 18 y/o Uruguayan winger being managed by Diego Forlan

According to The Athletic (£), Manchester United are keeping tabs on Penarol starlet Facundo Pellistri.

The report claims United plan to bolster their squad with a right-winger in the summer, with Jadon Sancho being the ultimate target, however they are not limiting themselves to just one addition in that area.

Although many of you would not have heard of Pellistri before now, The Athletic add that United have ‘closely tracked’ the 18-year-old for some time, with Real Madrid and Man City also monitoring the emerging talent in Uruguay.

His contract apparently runs until 2022 and includes a buyout clause of £10m, which wouldn’t break the bank for United.

The winger, who already speaks English, has made 25 appearances for the first-team and breaking through last season. His stats are nothing special though, contributing one goal and three assists in that time.

United are a team on the up at the moment. It looks like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans are finally coming together, with the addition of Bruno Fernandes in January proving massively beneficial.
