Loads of fans agree that Man Utd should make audacious move for Man City star

Plenty of Manchester United fans agree with Dwight Yorke’s suggestion that the club should make an audacious move for departing Man City winger Leroy Sane this summer.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Sane will not sign a new contract at City, meaning he will leave the Etihad at the end of this season or next when his contract expires.

Sane sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the Community Shield against Liverpool in August and has made just two appearances under Guardiola this term.

The German international is likely to be allowed to leave this summer so City can secure a transfer fee for his services.

And United great Yorke, who has been impressed by United’s attacking options this season, believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be bold and test the waters for the talented forward.

“United has got a real good attacking bunch of young players,” the former United striker told Stadium Astro. “Add in Sancho, I like the boy Sane at City I really do [like].

“We haven’t got a left-footed sort of winger. The boy [Mason] Greenwood is coming to the fore recently but I like Sane.

“I really do think this kid is probably the quickest out of all them as well and he’s really got a good attitude.

“I know he’s got some injuries but if I was brave, if I was Man United manager at this point in time that’s the type of person I would go for.

“He’s had a couple of years in the Premier League, I’ve watched him very closely, he’s a player that I like a lot.

“The boy Sancho is obviously up there as well but if you can’t get him why not be brave and go for a player who’s played across next door and cause some stir, just stir it up a little bit. That’s what I would do.”

Sane is one of the most explosive wingers in the Premier League, and as mentioned by Yorke, would offer Solskjaer a new option with his favoured left-foot on the flanks.

However, a move to his cross-city rivals seems unlikely for Sane who appears destined for a move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

The 24-year-old specialises on the left-flank and United need to prioritise signing a right-winger of the calibre of Jadon Sancho in the upcoming transfer window.

But despite the fact a transfer does not seem plausible, many United fans on social media agree with Yorke that Sane could be an inspired signing.
