Raul Jimenez addresses transfer rumours after links to United

Manchester United are believed to be looking for a new striker to add quality to their improving leading line. One of the names heavily associated with a switch to the Reds is Wolves star-man, Mexican Raul Jimenez. The Wolves striker has now spoken out and addressed the transfer links surrounding him, describing the feeling as ‘very cool.’

The prolific forward joined Wolves on a permanent deal at the beginning of this season from  Benfica and has since gone on to tally up some impressive numbers before the season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mexican has 13 goals and six assists after 28 Premier League starts.

Jimenez, 29, has now spoken out about how it feels to be linked with some of football’s biggest teams, including the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester United.

During a recent YouTube interview with Jessica Coch, Jimenez said: “It is something very cool, I do not know if they will be true, they are rumours. Since they are talking about me, different teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool – they are teams that are important in football history.

“It is an incredible thing to be on the radar and on the lips of those teams. It is something good for me to continue growing, making an effort and taking it as an incentive so that, if possible, I can achieve it.”

Although, with the securing of Odion Ighalo’s loan extension until the January and youth product Mason Greenwood tipped for greatness, it does now appear that United’s interest in Jimenez has cooled.

However, should the Reds decide to re-register their interest in Jimenez, his recent comments do offer some hope that the Mexican would be open to a move away from the Midlands outfit.
