Boost for Man Utd over 16 y/o starlet as German giants appear to baulk at transfer fee

Teams agreeing personal terms with a player is one thing. But it’s pointless unless you can agree on a transfer fee with the club!

That’s what I gather from the Jude Bellingham story, developing in German publication Sport Bild, and it signals some hope for Manchester United.

The young midfielder has had an outstanding breakthrough season at Birmingham City and it’s no wonder why the big names mentioned are interested in securing Bellingham’s signature.

While no-one can doubt that Borussia Dortmund would be a great destination for the 16-year-old (see Jadon Sancho as the perfect example), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is clearly building something special at Old Trafford which involves putting faith in youngsters.

Like Dortmund, United have proven that young players will get chances in the team.

Respected German journalist Christian Falk claims that Dortmund have agreed terms with the player but not with Birmingham. He goes on to suggest that could open to door for United.

If United are genuinely trying to sign Bellingham they need to make a move before it’s too late.
