Manchester United are predicting big things for Marcus Rashford and are said to feel he could be a future Ballon d’Or contender.
It goes without saying that the England international is one of the most exciting prospects in the Premier League, and United are hopeful Rashford can reach the very top as he continues his development.
According to UK newspaper Daily Mail, cited by MU Tribuna, the Red Devils believe Rashy has the potential of becoming a Ballon d’Or contender if he keeps making progress, as seen this season before he picked up a double stress fracture injury which may have kept him out of Euro 2020 — had the tournament not been postponed until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Rashford has played both on the flanks and as a central forward for United since earning his place in the first-team after graduating from the club’s academy. While he may prefer the central role, José Mourinho helped identify a better role for the English star and current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had him cutting in from the left-wing and scoring goals this season.
We expect the same next season — but with more goals!
The report from the Mail suggests that club insiders believe Mason Greenwood could become a first-team regular in around 12 months time — which is something Scott McTominay touched on in a recent Q&A session with Manchester United’s official website. They are also said to be confident that Anthony Martial can become a ‘huge success’ in the no. 9. role.
