Gary Neville names the Man United player most likely to win the Ballon d’Or

Gary Neville has been keeping some supporters entertained with a twitter Q and A session on Saturday morning.

The United great was asked the interesting question concerning whether any of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s current crop could go on to win the Ballon d’Or.

Neville believes enigmatic midfielder Paul Pogba is the most likely player in United’s squad to go on and win the most prestigious individual award in football.

Pogba is the most talented player within the United squad but has failed to deliver consistently in his four years since returning from Juventus.

The World Cup winner is now 27 and would perhaps have to leave Old Trafford and become the star in a side like Real Madrid  in order to be considered for the prize.

Pogba has previously earned global recognition for his individual performances by being named in the UEFA Team of the Year in 2015 before his move to Manchester.

We think Pogba is a player with unbelievable ability and we hope he can strike a relationship with new signing Bruno Fernandes when football eventually resumes.

But the Ballon d’Or award is perhaps a stretch too far and many United fans would be more than happy finally seeing the Frenchman performing consistently and winning games for the Reds.
