(Video) Man Utd target confirms he’s staying put at Premier League club

Both got the reaction they were looking for!

As part of a heartwarming gesture during these difficult times which sees the UK in lockdown, James Maddison calls a Leicester City season ticket holder and reveals his plans for the future.

We’ve seen United players do the same during the coronavirus pandemic, like when Nemanja Matic called a young fan and promised him a pair of Puma football boots.

The language is explicit once the fan is greeted on video call by Leicester’s playmaker, who The Sun previously linked to Manchester United, but thankfully that part is beeped out (for sharing purposes).

When asked by the fan if he was staying at Leicester, Maddison responded, “Of course I am,” as shown on the call via BT Sport’s Twitter account.

“It was one of the best decisions I’ve made, coming here. I love it.”

Leicester City fans are bound to have been worried about losing another one of their best players after seeing Harry Maguire depart for the biggest move of his career to United.

The other side to all of this is Maddison was put on the spot and could have felt trapped to give that response, rather than fuelling more speculation whilst speaking to a Leicester fan.

However, it is thought that United ended their interest in Maddison because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to prioritise a deal for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish instead, as per the Standard.

But it appears Grealish is no longer a priority, with The Athletic saying United have switched focus to a holding midfielder, which means both Maddison and Grealish are likely to have lost out of potential switches to the Red Devils.

That explains why Maddison is now comfortably telling Leicester fans he’s staying put.
