Daniel James names four fastest Man United players including surprise name

Daniel James thinks Diogo Dalot is potentially the fastest player at Manchester United.

The speed Welsh winger was asked in a recent livestream about the quickest players in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

James could not separate himself, Marcus Rashford and Dalot, and thinks a full sprint would answer the question. He also noted that right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is deceptively fast on the flank.

“Me, Diogo, Marcus, not seen a full sprint,” he told a Combat Corona FIFA20 charity livestream, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.

“I need to see that, we’d have a good race. Aaron is very quick, I don’t think people realise how quick he is.

“Dalot is rapid. You probably haven’t seen it as much.”

Many United fans may have suggested the likes of Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood to be quicker than Dalot.

We have yet to see the best of the Portuguese youngster at Old Trafford; his progress has so far been stifled by injuries.

But Dalot still has huge potential and can provide healthy competition for Wan-Bissaka at right-back if he remains fit.

Dalot is more proficient in attack than the Englishman and we feel he would be best suited to the right-wing back position where he has the freedom to venture into the final third.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer often opts for a three at the back system against offensively dangerous opposition and Dalot could be effective on the right-flank.

Meanwhile, we feel that electric James remains the fastest player at United. The 22-year-old uses his key asset to stretch defences, and has been particularly effective on the counter attack in his first season at the club.
