(Watch) Luke Shaw’s brilliant reaction to suggestion Jesse Lingard might take his goal

Luke Shaw doesn’t score many goals – so there’s no surprise that he is strongly claiming the opener against Derby County this evening.

The left-back scored his second Manchester United goal against the Championship opposition, as his looping volley somehow found its way into the top corner.

But it appeared that the ball took the slightest of deflections off Jesse Lingard’s back before it found the net.

Shaw is convinced that he should be awarded the goal and dismissed any suggestion that Lingard could claim it.

Anyhow, the 24-year-old continued his excellent form at full-back this evening, also providing an assist for Odion Ighalo as United hammered home their advantage.

Shaw surely deserves a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the European Championships this summer.

The full-back was brought off for the final ten minutes in place of Brandon Williams as he gets ready to prepare for Sunday’s pivotal Manchester derby in the Premier League.
