Bruno Fernandes shows great attitude by urging United to be mad about Everton draw

We are not only enjoying Bruno Fernandes on the pitch, but his attitude has been spot on since joining Manchester United in January.

The character of players in the current squad is something we’ve touched on in the past because it was clear, prior to this season, that there were no leaders in the dressing room.

However, in his first season at Man Utd, former Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire was named club captain. He has been a key factor in United’s improved defence this season and has had led by example.

But more leaders are needed if we are to succeed objectives.

Fernandes scored in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Everton — a stunning strike from distance — but thinks United should be “mad” that they only managed to draw the match at the weekend.

“With this draw, we need to be a little bit mad, because we need to do much better,” said Fernandes (via Manchester Evening News).

“We need to win the games, because we want a place in the Champions League.

“So we need to try more, to improve more, and I think ion the next games we will be much better.”

Jose Mourinho’s was a fan of ‘mad dogs’ when he managed United, a nickname that fitted Ander Herrera at the time, but we have finally got a quality midfielder who can take the team forward.

Fernandes is a winner who doesn’t settle for second best, and footballers should be annoyed when results aren’t good.

Some, who don’t need naming, would settle for mediocrity because they are in a comfort zone.
