Man Utd set to beef up Woodward security at matches

A day doesn’t go by where we don’t see negative posts about Ed Woodward on social media or someone connected with Manchester United being particularly scathing about the club’s executive vice-chairman.

Woodward is not a popular figure and rightly so. He has contributed to the decay of our club and it would be ridiculous to say our plight over the past few years isn’t partly his fault.

A video emerged of United fans throwing flares towards Woodward’s property last week.

And now it seems the club are now having to take some steps to ensure Woodward’s safety after this, with ESPN reporting that they were going to increase security around him following the incident that took place at his home in Cheshire.

While he was seen at the Etihad for United’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg clash, Woodward wasn’t present for the 0-0 draw against Wolves at Old Trafford last weekend, even though the match marked the anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster.

It seems there will be added security around Woodward when he bothers to attend matches.

A shame it has come to this but United fans have every right to be annoyed by Woodward.
