Odion Ighalo will wear the no25 shirt in his short stint at Manchester United.

The 30-year-old joined the Reds in a shock deadline day move as the Reds frantically tried to get a striker signing over the line in the final hours.

Ighalo, who left Watford for Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua in 2017, has claimed the shirt number of former captain Antonio Valencia.

He arrived Manchester on Sunday after completing a six-month loan deal for his boyhood club.

Ighalo could be in line to make his Manchester United debut as early as February 17th, when United take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a crucial fixture for top four hopes.

However, we expect Ighalo to be used sparingly by boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who will prefer Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial to the Nigerian. The deadline day signing was hugely underwhelming for a club of this stature but equally necessary for a team bereft of attacking options.

Martial has come under fire in recent weeks with many doubting his ability to play as a central striker. The Frenchman seems to operate better with Marcus Rashford on the left-hand side, with United clearly missing their talisman.
