José Mourinho was in a jokey mood after watching his Tottenham side crawl through their Premier League fixture with Norwich City last night, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Dele Alli and Son Heung-min.
The Portuguese tactician interrupted his own press conference to poke fun at the coverage of Manchester United pursuit of Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes.
It’s been non-stop between the England and Portuguese newspapers, and Mourinho has obviously been paying attention to his former club’s activity in the transfer market.
With Sky Sports having deployed a reporter in Portugal to follow the latest goings on in the Fernandes saga, Mourinho wanted to be brought up to speed.
This could be portrayed as a dig at Ed Woodward too, as their frosty relationship is well documented from Mourinho’s time at Old Trafford.

Mourinho doesn’t look surprised to hear United are struggling to get the deal over the line, despite Sporting being in need of financial aid.
Fernandes remains a Sporting player, though, as we try wait patiently for his possible arrive before the deadline.
We could have done with Fernandes last night against Burnley.
