Journalist claims Bruno Fernandes is pressurising Sporting Lisbon for Man Utd move

Portuguese journalist Gonçalo Lopes claims Bruno Fernandes has admitted he doesn’t want to play in Friday evening’s Lisbon derby as he pushes for a move to Manchester United.

Sporting face Benfica in the Primera Liga, where it was believed Fernandes would say his goodbyes before completing his United switch.

Portuguese outlet Record, as sourced by the Daily Mail, suggested Fernandes will play his last game against Benfica before flying to England and will be in the stands for United’s clash against Liverpool on Sunday.

However, while Fernandes has agreed personal terms with United, a deal has yet to be agreed between the two clubs, as per James Ducker of the Telegraph.

The move therefore hinges on whether the two clubs can agree on a fee for the Portugal international.

It’s crucial the United get this over the line as the 25-year-old would improve Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s midfield immensely.

Fernandes could provide the missing link between midfield and attack when United are in transition, and has scored seven goals and has eight assists in the Primera Liga this season.

We will watch out for the team sheets this evening to see if Fernandes is to feature for Sporting.
