Cesc Fabregas has revealed in a twitter Q and A that he spoke to David Moyes ahead of a possible move to Manchester United.
But the Spanish great revealed that he was never actually close to signing for the Red Devils, despite significant interest.
Fabregas was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in 2013, shortly after Moyes had been appointed manager at the club.
But he insisted at the time that he was happy at Barcelona, despite returning to the Premier League to join Chelsea just twelve months later.
The Spanish World Cup winner is one of the most accomplished midfielders in our generation, and it’s a shame we didn’t get to see a player of his quality in a United shirt.
But ultimately, Moyes could not convince him to move to Old Trafford and eventually signed Marouane Fellaini that summer.
I wouldn’t say close but I did talk to David Moyes a couple of times. https://t.co/22uwAAutou
