Report: Erling Haaland flying in to Manchester for talks as he ‘closes in’ on United move

Reports this morning suggest RB Salzburg striker Erling Haaland has flown into Manchester for transfer talks as he looks to complete a move to Old Trafford.

According to the Daily Mail, Haaland took a Norwegian Airlines flight from homeland Stavanger to Manchester which is set to land at 10.15am on Friday morning.

The report claims the news means United may have won the race to sign the 19-year-old, who is one of the most coveted youngsters across Europe.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer struck a good relationship with Haaland during their time at Molde and widespread reports have suggested the United boss wants a reunion with his striker.

The Reds are lacking in forward options after Romelu Lukaku was not replaced in the summer window, and there is a need for investment in the January transfer window to provide competition for places in the United attack.

If these reports are to be believed and Haaland is in Manchester looking to hopefully conclude a deal, then United would be have beaten Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig to the Norwegians’s signature.

Haaland is already a prolific goalscorer and netted 28 times already for his Austrian side this season.
