Report: Man Utd target Haaland can leave in January for €20m

Our friends at Sport Witness have picked up an interesting report from a prominent German newspaper.

Erling Braut Haaland has been strongly linked with a move to Man Utd for several months, as per The Sun, and the Red Bull Salzburg striker already has experience working with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from their time together at Molde.

There’s a good chance Haaland would be interested in a move to Old Trafford given that Solskjaer played a big part in launching the promising youngster’s career.

But last month reports from Germany suggested a possible €30m clause in his contract along with the assumption that it may only be available to RB Leipzig, as reported by the Metro.

However, the latest from Bild is that €20m would be enough to meet Haaland’s clause and that Borussia Dortmund could sign him for that in January.

As Sport Witness point out, it’s not outright claimed to be a club specific clause but it may be ‘favourable’ to BVB.

If it applies to all clubs, like a general clause, that could be good news for Manchester United.

With Marcus Rashford showing great form out wide on the left, a prolific goalscorer at centre-forward would make a big difference to the current United team.

Haaland already looks a real star, scoring at ease in the Champions League this season with 8 goals.

It could spell trouble for Anthony Martial who we feel is playing for his United career this season.
