Man Utd hold advantage to sign CL star – Solskjaer submits proposal to sign player

The biggest clubs in Europe will be linked with Red Bull Salzburg’s Erling Braut Haaland between now and the summer, but multiple reports have suggested that Manchester United have an advantage because the striker played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde. 

According to Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet, cited by Sport Witness, United are far ahead in the race to sign the 19-year-old goalscorer.

Solskjaer supposedly wants the Norway international at Old Trafford and the report states that he has already submitted a proposal to sign the player. 

However, the recipient of that proposal is unknown – Solskjaer may have made it to United’s board or directly to Red Bull Salzburg…

But if a deal is to happen, it’s likely to be a summer move rather than a January transfer. Haaland is having an incredible season in Austria (26 goals in 18 matches across all competitions) and is ripping up the Champions League. It would be ridiculous for him to move anywhere now even if United could do with him up front.

Solskjaer would then have a selection headache with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial — but if he could make all three work in the same team, it will be a very exciting time to be a Manchester United fan.
