Man Utd can afford £100m-rated Jadon Sancho but face tricky obstacle to lure Borussia Dortmund sensation

Manchester United can reportedly afford the £100m that would allegedly be required to prize Jadon Sancho away from Borussia Dortmund next summer.

However, it won’t be easy to seal a deal. Not by any stretch of the imagination after our poor start to the 2019/20 season.

Time will tell if manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can guide United out of this mess, with Monday night’s 1-1 draw seen as a missed opportunity to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

It’s crucial that United qualify for the Champions League next season, for more reasons than one, but Goal.com claim we won’t be able to lure Sancho to Old Trafford without a top-four finish or winning the Europa League outright this season.

Interestingly, The Independent ran a similar line when United failed to secure a Champions League spot last season. Reports concerning a move to Old Trafford died down shortly after but have resurfaced despite our struggles early on this term.

Sancho would be a quality signing for United and would provide a huge upgrade on Jesse Lingard in attack. He is the future of English football and don’t be surprised if he takes Marcus Rashford’s spot for England this year.

This season in the Bundesliga, Sancho has made six appearances scoring three goals and providing four assists, as per WhoScored.

United need that firepower in attack and need it quick if Rashford keeps misfiring.

Unless the Red Devils get their act together soon, top-four will be out of reach and so might be some of Solskjaer’s transfer targets.
