Man Utd make enquiry over second Juventus star after Dybala, claims journalist

According to Goal journalist Romeo Agresti, Manchester United have made an enquiry about Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic during discussions with Juventus over the Lukaku/Dybala swap deal.

It seems unclear whether Mandzukic would be part of the swap deal involving Lukaku and Dybala, or part of a separate transfer on his own.

United definitely need an attacker to replace Lukaku if the Belgian leaves for Turin or possibly Inter Milan, and it looks like the Reds may have identified a potential back up option to Marcus Rashford.

Mandzukic, 33, has been a good servant Juventus and could a useful back up option for the Reds, albeit not a very exciting one and nota player typical of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s fast, counter-attacking approach.

The Croatian World Cup finalist has experience at the top level having played for Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and now the Old Lady.

Meanwhile, according to respected journalist Di Marzio, negotiations will continue with Juventus and United today as both sides look to reach an agreement on a deal that would see Dybala move to Old Trafford.

However, United still have to wait on the Argentine star to agree on the move to Manchester for the deal to be sanctioned.
