West Ham ask about availability of Man Utd midfielder; potential bargaining tool for Reds to sign Issa Diop

According to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, West Ham have asked about the availability of Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

This all comes off the back of United’s reported interest in Hammers defender Issa Diop, who Solhekol claims is happy where he is, though his representatives are due to have talks with West Ham next week.

Why are talks taking place now? Perhaps they are seeking a bigger contract now that the biggest club in England want to sign their client or they could just want to hear more about United’s interest.

However, it is interesting that West Ham have supposedly expressed a desire to sign McTominay this summer.

Solhekol tweeted: “Issa Diop’s representatives due to have talks with West Ham next week. Diop happy at West Ham despite Man United interest. West Ham have asked about the availability of Man United midfielder Scott McTominay.”

As of now, unless their interest is big, I fancy McTominay to be at United next season and getting game time as well.

But if we could sign Diop and improve our defence with McTominy being part of a potential deal, I wouldn’t say no to that either.
