The Matthjis de Ligt transfer saga continues to drag on without a conclusion in sight.
The Express jumped on the latest by linking Liverpool with a move for the Ajax skipper, while Duncan Castles recently told The Transfer Window Podcast that United don’t believe a deal will happen in their favour.
Other clubs said to be in the running for De Ligt’s signature include Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

De Ligt has some of the best clubs in world football to select from and at the age of 19, it’s telling that they’re all prioritising a move for the centre-back who won’t come cheaply.
Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman was asked about the youngster’s future. He opens up revealing the sort of advice he would give a young player such as De Ligt, but also hints that the decision is secret.
“I have spoken with Matthijs a week ago about his future and it is secret,” he said, as per Manchester Evening News.
“What I say to young people who are thinking of taking a step is that the most important thing is to continue playing, to have minutes to develop their football, and where they play is also important, but that they must choose well with their family, his agent, the environment that surrounds him.”
If De Ligt’s decision must be made if it’s a secret.
Koeman and others must be aware of where the centre-back is headed next.
And, I’m not confident that will be Old Trafford.
