Spanish journalist says Pogba to Real Madrid is ‘done’ but Chelsea star will be announced first

Paul Pogba has made his admiration for Real Madrid no secret. During a recent international break, the Manchester United midfielder admitted that it would be a ‘dream’ to play for the Spanish giants, which also means linking up with French football legend Zinedine Zidane as manager.

While nobody would be surprised to see him leave this summer, United are not in a position that they must sell. Manchester Evening News states that the club would prefer to keep Pogba suggesting that they will demand big bucks should anyone make an attempt to sign him.

However, reports in Spain claim the opposite as a deal has seemingly been agreed upon already. Real Madrid’s plan is to announce Pogba after they have announced the rumoured arrival of Eden Hazard.

Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda claims a deal between Pogba and Real Madrid is nearly done.

“Pogba is practically done,” he said, as per Okdiaro.

“The first to appear will be Hazard and the next will be Pogba. He has agreed to lower his Manchester United salary: from £13m net per year to £10m. Adidas is pressing a lot because he is one of the two franchise players of the brand.”

Whatever involvement Adidas have in Pogba’s potential switch to the Santiago Bernabeu, similar reports emerged when he returned to Old Trafford in 2016. Adidas win either way if Pogba is playing for United or Real Madrid.

Pogba is obviously a fantastic footballer and he has the ability to be the very best, but we’re just not seeing that on a consistent enough basis in a United shirt. It would be a shame to lose him and knowing it didn’t work out, though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn’t got the time to play around. The manager needs to get his team ready for next season and should know at this point if Pogba will be part of that.
