Sandro to re-emerge as Manchester United target

Alex Sandro is reportedly set to leave Juventus at the end of the season and Manchester United are tipped as favourites to sign the Brazil international.

That’s according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport which also states Juventus are planning to make way for Real Madrid star Marcelo, who is also very close friends with Cristiano Ronaldo.

United have been linked with Sandro in the past but the timing this time around strikes us as odd.

Luke Shaw has made the left-back role his own this season and has been getting better and more consistent over time.

Caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been working closely with the England international to encourage him to get forward more, so I highly doubt there are plans to scrap all of that for a 28-year-old that is potentially being pushed out of the door at Juve.

The report adds that PSG and Real Madrid are also interested in Sandro, while Barcelona were considering a move before Jordi Alba signed a new contract at Camp Nou.

United don’t need a left-back signing this summer, unless they identify an understudy signing like Diogo Dalot.
