Solskjaer provides reason for benching Rashford and Lindelof absence

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given a pre-match interview to MUTV explaining some of the absentees from today’s confirmed line-up.

The biggest surprise came this weekend when we heard Victor Lindelof did not travel with the squad to London.

Solskjaer doesn’t believe it’s anything serious and he should be available to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Swede has been a rock at the back the past month and looks like he could be a long-term solution in United’s defence as long as the club can identify the right defensive partner in the summer.

Marcus Rashford suffered a dead leg against Leicester City which gives Romelu Lukaku another chance to prove himself.

“There are a couple of niggles, Rashford got a dead leg against Leicester. We don’t want to risk him.

“At the back, Victor is out, not really a concern, he should be okay for Tuesday.”

United need both players back for the PSG game, already swinging in our favour with the likelihood of Marco Verratti and Neymar missing out through injury.

We could do without any injury problems of our own.
