Confirmed MUFC line-up vs Fulham – Smalling returns, Lukaku and Mata in attack

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named his Manchester United starting eleven to face Fulham in the early kick-off this afternoon.

The Reds are expected to get their second consecutive win after being Leicester City 1-0 last weekend. Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game before being awarded Manchester United Player of the Month for January.

As reported before the team was confirmed, the squad travelled to London on Friday evening without Victor Lindelof, Fred and Andreas Pereira.

Anthony Martial attacks from the left and is joined by Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata against Fulham’s weak defence, so hopefully the trio can add to their tally for the season.

Chris Smalling will make his first appearance under Solskjaer after returning from a foot injury. He will partner Phil Jones while Eric Bailly returns to the bench.

There are no surprises in midfield with Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba all getting the nod.

A win today will see United rise from fifth to fourth in the Premier League. Solskjaer’s side will remain in that position as long as title contenders Manchester City beat Chelsea tomorrow.

Up against a weak side defensively, United should have enough firepower in attack to cause Claudio Raneri’s men problems.

In the reverse fixture United won 4-1 at Old Trafford.
