Confirmed MUFC XI vs Newcastle – Rashford keeps place ahead of Lukaku

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named his Manchester United line-up to face Newcastle tonight in the Premier League.

This fixture also sees United defender Eric Bailly begin his three-match suspension after being sent off against Bournemouth, while Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo are out through injury, but at least Alexis Sanchez has returned for selection.

United are at St James’ Park looking to make it four wins from four under caretaker manager Solskjaer. Granted the players perform the way he wants, it should see his perfect start continue at Rafael Benitez’s expense.

The biggest headline from United’s starting line-up should be Marcus Rashford keeping his spot up front despite Romelu Lukaku returning with a goal off the bench against Bournemouth. The England international has been in terrific form of late and deserves to start.

Antonio Valencia returns with the captain’s armband. The veteran has not been at his best this season and has struggled with fitness. Solskjaer did say he was going to give everyone a chance…

Elsewhere, in attack, Juan Mata replaces Jesse Lingard on the right. The Spaniard has the tools to flourish in Solskjaer’s system at United, but take nothing away from Lingard. He’s been ace.

Hopefully we get to see Alexis Sanchez make a positive appearance from the bench tonight.
